Vehicle Turning Radius and Swept Path (AASHTO)
AASHTO minimum turning radii and swept path width for cars, box trucks, buses and WB-40 to WB-67 semis, for site and loading dock design.
- Outside, centerline and inside turning radii
- Swept path width
- AASHTO design vehicles: P, SU-30, BUS-40, BUS-45, WB-40, WB-62, WB-67
- Turning diagram
How to use
- Choose a design vehicle, from a passenger car (P) to a WB-67 interstate semi.
- Read the outer, centerline and inner turning radii and the width of the swept path, with a diagram of the turn.
- Values are AASHTO minimum design turns at low speed (under 10 mph). Use them to lay out drive aisles, drop-offs and loading areas.
