Feet and Inches Calculator

Add, subtract, multiply and divide feet, inches and fractions like 12' 6 3/4". Also works in meters and millimeters.

How to use

  1. Type an expression or use the keypad. The result updates as you type; press Enter or = to add it to the tape and carry on from the result.
  2. Mark feet with ' and inches with ". In imperial mode, pressing space right after a number adds the feet mark for you.
  3. After feet, the inch mark is optional: 6' 4 1/2 is 6 feet 4 1/2 inches.
  4. A whole number with a fraction is read as inches: 6 1/2. A fraction on its own needs the inch mark (3/4"); without it, 3/4 is division.
  5. A dash is always minus: 4'-4" is 4 feet minus 4 inches. Write 4' 4" for four feet four inches.
  6. Multiply or divide a length by a plain number, and group with parentheses.
  7. For metric, add m, cm or mm to each number; metric and imperial lengths can be mixed. A plain number is inches, or millimeters when the Units panel is set to metric.
