Brick Coursing Calculator
Fit whole brick courses to a wall height and adjust the mortar joint to land on it. Modular, engineer, Norman, Roman, utility and metric brick.
- Number of courses closest to a target height
- Mortar joint adjusted to land the height exactly
- US brick formats and Canadian metric modular brick
- Coursing diagram
How to use
- Choose the brick unit: modular, engineer modular, closure modular, Roman, Norman, utility or Canadian metric modular.
- Enter the height the brickwork has to reach, for example a window head or sill.
- Enter the mortar joint you plan to use (3/8" is standard; 10 mm for metric brick).
- Read the number of courses closest to that height and the adjusted joint that lands it exactly, plus the joints for one course fewer or one more.
- Length fields accept the same entries as the Feet and Inches Calculator: 9' 6, 7 3/4", 2743mm or 3m + 6'. A plain number means inches, or millimeters when the Units panel is set to metric.
